Hi! I’m Hannah. My first canvas was the well-used concrete sidewalk outside my back door. Between chores on our working family farm, I would swirl and shave my sidewalk chalk colors down to nubbins. Growing up, I was the kid that repeatedly asked for art supplies for every birthday and Christmas. Some of the best gifts I received were colored pencils, drawing paper, and scotch tape (the good kind). Being sent to my room wasn’t a disciplinary action for me. I had amassed an art supply collection that could keep me occupied for hours.
Today, I love implementing my artistic creativity and imagination into all forms of everyday life. From drawing initial ideas by hand with pencil and paper to utilizing adobe design software to bring ideas to life for print/digital media. I enjoy artistic endeavors which involve getting my fingers ‘dirty’ with pastels, charcoals and colored pencils. It’s a joy creating/editing photos and videos that capture the excitement of the moment.
In my physical avocations, I enjoy visualizing how to move my muscles to perform Olympic lifts at my home outdoor gym. I’m pursuing how to fly my freestyle kayak during tricks in an ever changing whitewater river and dancing on my board as I carve and surf over a glassy river wave. Each growing season, I paint my backyard landscape with the colors and textures of plants. And still getting in some sidewalk chalk time with my friends’ kids.
Art flows through my daily life. Being creative fuels my imagination and builds my skill set each day. I am a lifelong learner, striving to be the best version of myself every day.
